Frasers Hospitality sign up biggest Middle East property.


Massive 396 apartment agreement finalised in Doha.

Frasers Hospitality, the Singaporean based serviced apartment operator, has announced the signing of its largest property in the Middle East. Agreement has been concluded for the company to operate a 396 unit property being built in West Bay, Doha. This is the second Doha property for Frasers Hospitality.

Construction of the 46 storey tower has commenced and the property is branded Fraser Suites West Bay Doha. Opening is due for the third quarter of 2015.

Said Guus Bakker, Chief Operating Officer Europe and Middle East, of Frasers Hospitality: “This will be our biggest Middle East property and is a good example of the expansion plans we have in the region. The impressive 396 unit property will be made up of studios, one, two and some three bedrooms plus all the amenities expected by guests at Frasers Hospitality. Fully featured kitchens, modern living areas will be part of the make-up of all apartments. There will also be a swimming pool, all day dining facilities and a signature restaurant”.

This latest signing is one of three made recently in the Middle East. A second unit has been signed in Bahrain, plus agreements for two additional properties in Dubai. The current Middle East portfolio now reads, Bahrain, Dubai, Doha and two in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the first of which will open this year (2014).

Added Mr Bakker, “We have a total commitment to the region as this new signing will underline and further agreements can be expected. Fraser Suites Doha will not only be our largest agreement in the region but, will also offer travellers the most stylish experience”

Fraser Suites Doha West Bay will consist of: 126 studios, 172 one bedroom, 95 two bedroom and just four three bedroom apartments. Facilities include a swimming pool, an all day dining facility and a signature restaurant.

European expansion:

The Middle East expansion programme is matched by the company’s aspirations in Europe where new signings have been confirmed in Munich, Berlin and Barcelona. This is in addition to the 152 apartment property under construction in Frankfurt. These will join the 14 properties already operating within Europe which are centred in London, Paris, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Istanbul and Budapest.

Refurbishment plans:

In addition, huge investment has been made in refurbishments. Fraser Suites Queens Gate London, which has totally been refurbished with all apartments changed and additional public facilities, Fraser Place Canary Wharf is in the final phase of refurb and construction which changes the capacity from 63 to 108 units, Glasgow has been totally redecorated and now has additional public facilities. The company’s European flagship property, the five star Fraser Suites Le Claridge on the Champs-Elysées Paris is seeing the final stages of a total revamp which will be completed in the next month.

Worldwide, the current portfolio of Frasers Hospitality, including those in the pipeline, stands at 86 properties in 45 cities, and more than 15,000 apartments worldwide.
